Question
What are the differences between McAfee® SHP and McAfee® MLS?
Answer
A three year McAfee® Secure Home Platform (SHP) subscription and a 90 day McAfee® LiveSafe (MLS) subscription are included with select ARRIS products.  Both products can be used jointly to maximize network and device security.  To better understand the differences between each product, and how they work to protect devices, please refer to the chart below.

 McAfee® LiveSafeSecure Home Platform
Product InfoAward winning Anti-virus Security suite that offers protection for an unlimited number of Windows PCs, Macs and Android and iOS devices, along with a Web dashboard.
LiveSafe lets the user install the security suite on every PC, Mac and mobile device you have.  This does not provide protection at a router level.
Secure Home Platform is a solution based on a set of software packages designed to be installed on a consumer home router and provides protection at a router level.
Automatically protects internet-connected devices on the home network from a variety of threats. Attacks are blocked at the router level, delivering robust security features that can be controlled from an easy-to-use mobile app

Protection for All DevicesGuards against viruses and online threats, helps avoid risky websites and prevents dangerous downloads.SHP offers two levels of protection:
Protection at router level- The home gateway acts as a gatekeeper for every other device in that network.  The Global Threat Intelligence database helps to protect devices from accessing malicious websites.
Protection at cloud level - Security needs are different based on device type and user (child vs adult).  SHP offers flexibility to set up different security policies on different devices in home network.
Virus and Threat ProtectionYes.  Helps keep identity and data secure with real time anti-malware, a two-way firewall, and a next-generation scanning engine.Threat protection is provided at the routerlevel for all connected devices. User can install MLS from the SHP application to provide further device level virus protection.
