Parental Rewards: Start and Stop Screen Time

Question
How do kids start or stop screen time?
Answer
NOTE: This article applies to the mAX W21, W121, W122 Express, W30, W130, W31, and W133 Routers.

When Parental Rewards is enabled the Internet is paused for all Parental Control profiles and screen time minutes are required for Internet access.  The screen time minutes can be added manually by the parent or earned by completing chores.  The screen time minutes cannot be used when the kid's user profile is blocked by the Parental Control or the Internet is paused by the parent.


Use Screen Time Minutes
  1. On the parent's phone, select a Kid's profile on the Parental Control screen and then tap the Go to kid view link. 

    NOTE: Create a new pin when accessing for first-time access to the Kid View.  Click here to set up the Kid View.

  2. In the Screen time section, confirm available screen time minutes.

    NOTE: Screen time minutes are added when chores are marked as completed, from weekly allowances, and or parents add them manually.  Click here to mark chores as completed.  Click here to add allowances.  Click here to add screen time.

  3. Tap the Use Screen Time button to start using the available screen time minutes.  The app notifies the parent when the screen time starts.

  4. To stop using screen time minutes, tap the Stop Screen Time button.  The app notifies the parent when the screen time stops.

  5. In the Screentime section, the used and remaining screen time minutes are displayed.
