Question
How do I setup my SBG10 gateway to use other DNS addresses?
Answer
Domain Name Server (DNS) is a database that contains domain host names (e.g http://www.arris.com) which are linked to a specific IP address.  When accessing a website by domain name like www.arris.com, the DNS retrieves the IP address to access the website.  DNS makes it possible to access the websites by domain names.

The DNS settings can be customized when using public DNS or installing private DNS in a home network.  This document describes how to setup custom DNS addresses in the SBG10.

CAUTION: By default, the SBG10 obtains DNS addresses automatically from the service provider.  Internet connection may be lost if the DNS addresses inputted in the SBG10 are not legitimate.

There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
