How do I configure my wireless network using the Quick Start Wizard? 
The SBG6580-2 Quick Start Wizard is an application that allows the user to customize the default Wi-Fi and admin login credentials.  This document describes how to customize the Wi-Fi name and security key, and admin login username and password using the Quick Start Wizard in the SBG6580-2.

Quick Start Wizard
  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Login page will appear.

    NOTE: A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager.  There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
  2. On the Login page, enter admin or a customized username in the Username field.
  3. Enter password or a customized password in the Password field.

    NOTE: On later versions of the SBG6580-2, the Wi-Fi Security Key is used as the default admin password printed on the bottom while label.  For assistance with Web Manager Access, refer to article # 18752 – SBG6580-2: Web Manager Access.

  4. Click the Login button.  The Home page will appear.

  5. On the Home page, click the Launch Quick Start Wizard link.  The Quick Start Wizard begins.

  6. Click the Next button on Welcome page.

  7. On Wi-Fi Network Name & Passphrase page, enter a new wireless network name in the Network Name (SSID) field.  The name needs to be 1 to 32 alphanumeric characters long.
  8. Enter a new wireless password in the Passphrase field.  The passphrase needs to be 8 to 64 chracters long.
  9. Click the Next button.

  10. Click the Next button on the Wi-Fi Security Configuration page.

    NOTE: It is not required to change the admin username and password in order to change the default Wi-Fi credentials.  It is recommended to change the default admin login credentials; check the options to make changes.

  11. Check the Change Username box to enter a new username.
  12. Enter a new username in the Enter New Username field.
  13. Re-enter the new username in the Re-Enter New Username field.
  14. Check the Change Password box to change the password.
  15. Enter a new password in the Enter New Password field.
  16. Re-enter the new password in the Re-Enter New Password field.
  17. Click the Next button.

    NOTE: The new username and password will take effect when the Web Manager is logged out.

  18. Review the Wi-Fi credentials on the Review Settings page.  Then click the Apply button to save the settings.  

    NOTE: It may take up to one minute to save.

  19. On the Setting Applied page, write down or press the Print button to save the new Wi-Fi credentials.  Click the Exit button when finish.
