Question
How do I configure DDNS in my SBG7580-AC?
Answer
The SBG7580-AC supports the usage of Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS).  DDNS service provides users the ability to access the SBG7580-AC or other devices, such as a web server or video cameras, in a home network using a friendly name from various locations over the Internet.   Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) is disabled by default.  This document describes how to setup Dynamic DNS.

Requirements
  • A DDNS service that is setup from one of the following websites:
    • www.dyndns.org
    • www.tzo.com
    • www.freedns.afraid.org 
    • www.zoneedit.com
    • www.noip.com
    • www.easydns.com
    • domains.google 
  • DDNS Account username, password and DDNS host name.

DDNS Setup
  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Login page will appear.

    NOTE: A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager.  There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.
     
  2. On the Login page, enter admin in the User Name field.
     
  3. Enter password or a customized password in the Password field.

    NOTE: When using the default password to login, it may be required to set a unique password to proceed to the Web Manager.  For assistance with Web Manager Access, refer to article # 18248 – SBG7580-AC: Web Manager Access.
     
  4. Click the Apply button.  The Alert!! window will appear.

  5. The Alert!! window includes information about the Parental Control via the Secure Home Internet Service mobile app available on the Google Play Store (Android) and App Store (iOS).  Select the following options to manage the alert window. 

    • Check the Do not show this window again box and click the Close button to stop the alert window from appearing during the next login.

    • Click the Close button to bypass the alert window.  The alert window will appear during the next login.

  6. On the System Basic Setup page, click the Utilities link on the top menu.  The System Information page will appear.

  7. On the System Information page, click the DDNS link on the left-hand menu.  The DDNS page will appear.

  8. On the DDNS page, check the DDNS Enable box.
     
  9. Click the DDNS Service drop-down menu and select the desired DDNS service.
     
  10. Enter the DDNS username in the User Name field.
     
  11. Enter the DDNS password in the Password Key field.
     
  12. Enter the DDNS Domain name in the Domain Name field.
     
  13. Click the Apply button.  The DDNS page will refresh.
