Question
Where can I find the firmware version in my SBV2402 Cable Modem?
Answer
The firmware version of the SBV2402 is located in the Web Manager.  Some features may vary depending on the firmware version on the SBV2402.  This document describes how to locate the firmware version in the Web Manager.  

Firmware updates on cable modems are handled only by Cable Operators (MSOs) per DOCSIS Specifications.  For more information refer to article # 5524 - Upgrading Firmware on Cable Devices.      


Locate Firmware Version in the Web Manager   

NOTE
: If the SBV2402 is connected to a router, it is recommended to disconnect the router and connect the SBV2402 directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable. 
  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.100.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Status page will appear.

    NOTE 1: A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager.  There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.

    NOTE 2: A login page may appear to access the Web Manager.  Enter the default username admin in the Username field and enter the default password password or customized password in the Password field.  For additional information, refer to article # 17956 – SBV2402: Web Manager Access. 

     
  2. Click the HW/FW Versions link on the top menu.  On the HW/FW Versions page, the firmware version is highlighted in the green box.
