When attempting to access the SBX-1000P Web Manager for the first time, the SBX-1000P prompts for a admin password. Â By default, the password is password. Â For network security purposes, ARRIS recommends to changing the gateway default password after logging onto the SBX-1000P for the first time. Â This document describes how to change the default admin password.
Admin Login Consideration:
- Passwords are case sensitive.
- Passwords can contain special characters.
- Keep a record of the password. Â
NOTE: If lost, factory reset to the SBX-1000P is required to access the web manager with default admin login credentials.  For instructions on performing factory reset, please refer to Article # 16136 - SBX-1000P: Factory Reset. Â
Changing the Default Admin Password

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.100.254 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.
NOTE 1: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.100.254.  If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box. NOTE 2: For instructions on how to login SBX-1000P, please refer to Article # 16140 -  SBX-1000P: Login Access.

- On the Login page, enter password in the Password field.
- Click the Apply button.  The Status page appears.

- Move the mouse-cursor over Advance on the top menu, and click the Configuration link from the drop-down submenu. The Configuration page appears.
- On the Configuration page, Change Login Password section - enter password twice.
- Click the Apply button.Â
 - Click Logout.  On the Login page, enter changed password in the Password field.
