Question
How do I configure the LAN settings in the TG862?
Answer

The TG862 also includes configurable options for the Local Area Network (LAN).  The LAN IP Address and DHCP range can be configured and modified to suit the needs of the network.  By default, the LAN IP address of the TG862 is 10.0.0.1, and DHCP for the LAN network is enabled.  This document describes how to change the LAN IP address and DHCP range of the TG862.

NOTE: If the LAN IP address is modified to be in a different subnet (e.g. 192.168.0.1), the TG862 will automatically change the DHCP range to use addresses in that subnet.

Changing the Local Area Network (LAN) IP Address

  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://10.0.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.

NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 10.0.0.1.  If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.

  2. On the Login page:
    a.   Enter admin in the Username field.
    b.   Enter password in the Password field.
    c.   Click the Login button.  The Gateway > At a Glance page appears.

     - Enter the desired IP address for the LAN interface.  In this example, 192.168.0.1 is used.

NOTE: The LAN IP address used must be a private IP address (within one of the following ranges):

    10.x.x.x
    172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x
    192.168.x.x

    c.   DHCP Beginning Address - Enter the 1st IP address of the desired DHCP range.
    d.   DHCP Ending Address - Enter the last IP address of the desired DHCP range.
    e.   DHCP Lease Time - Leave at default (1 week), or enter the desired time duration that a device will retain an IP address.
