Touchstone Battery Back-Up Initial Charge Time

Question
What is the initial charge time for the battery back-up?
Answer
Some Touchstone units includes a battery back-up for voice service subscribers.  The battery back-up will allow the voice service to function in case of a power outage, but is not intended to replace the AC power for an extended period of time. 

When the Touchstone unit is connected to AC power for the first time or a new replacement battery is installed, the battery begins the initial charge cycle.  The initial charge cycle consist of three phases:
  • Initial charging
  • Discharging
  • Recharging
The normal charge after the initial charge cycle is less than the initial charge time.  The charge time for the initial charge cycle varies depending on the model of the battery.  Refer to the table below.
