Question
How do I power cycle my mAX Router?
Answer
NOTE: This article applies to the mAX WC4S, WC4T, W21, W121, W122 Express, W30, W130, W31, W133, W61, and the W161 Routers.

In some cases, the mAX Router may need to be power cycled to regain functionality.  This can be accomplished by using the Restart Router button in the SURFboard Central app.  This document describes how to power cycle the mAX Router.



Power Cycle mAX Router
  1. Tap the My Network icon at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap the Satellite mAX router icon.  It is recommended to reboot the Satellite(s) first and the main mAX router last.

    NOTE: The main mAX Router is in the middle and the Satellites will be on the left or right side.

  3. Scroll down and tap the Restart Router button.

  4. On the Reboot your router? pop-up box, tap the Restart Router button.

    CAUTION: When the router is power cycled, Wi-Fi clients in the network will lose wireless connection and reconnect when the router is back online.

  5. The mAX Router screen will return.  Allow 2 - 3 minutes for the mAX Router to be online.

    NOTE: Repeat steps 2 - 4 to reboot additional Satellite(s) and the main router last.
